It’s been cold here. And foggy. Which means frost. Each day frostier than the last. Eventually, there was so much frost that I had to go out with my camera.
So here are some pictures. The stuff on the ground is snow. Old snow, from our massive storm a month ago. But the stuff in the trees, on the branches, forming in magical crystals. That’s the frost.

When doing engagement pictures, I tell couples to choose a location that has significance for them–something that is personal and unique. When I made this suggestion to Alyssa, little did I know that she is engaged to a basketball player at Washington State University. But indeed, she is. And she and Caleb thought it would be a great idea to do their engagement pictures at center court at Beasley Coliseum. I couldn’t have agreed more!
So, one day after Caleb and the Cougs beat Stanford in Pullman, I drove down and did their pictures. It was a blast. The gym was beautiful, and Alyssa and Caleb couldn’t be nicer. I’m really looking forward to shooting their wedding this summer, and in the meantime, I’ll be watching Cougar games with quite a bit more interest.

At Christmas, when we went to DisneyLand, we could have set the record. It was that empty. We went on Christmas Eve, and it was drizzly, and there were very few people there, relatively speaking. There was absolutely no line for Space Mountain. We could have set the record.
Could have. But, with a 1 year old, 4 year old, and 5 year old, Space Mountain wasn’t really much of an option. Dumbo was. We did Dumbo.
Anyway, we did, however, hit stop-and-go traffic out of Anaheim to Riverside. So what does one do, while a passenger in the front seat, in stop-and-go-traffic? Mess around with pictures, of course. And here are the results. (No thumbs, but only six images–sort of an evolution of goofing off.)

So, I’m finally getting to the pictures from Christmas. We went to Southern California to be with my folks (John and Ione), as well as my sister Laura, brother-in-law MacLeod, and two nephews, Akian and Conlan. Conlan really likes me. He thinks I’m cool. I hope this lasts past age 1.
Marcus and Bonnie were also there, of course, so they will all make appearances in this here little gallery. Sites include the San Diego Zoo, DisneyLand, and SeaWorld, plus, of course, some Christmas Day presents.
And, to keep the narrative flowing, there are, at the bottom left of each image, tiny little captions. Fun for everyone!

When I was in Seattle to do the shoot in the Seattle Public Library, I was taken again by how beautiful the building is. Absolutely stunning.
So after the shoot, I just wandered around a bit and took some pictures. Great colors. Great lines. Great spaces.
If you haven’t been there, and are in Seattle sometime, do go. You won’t be disappointed.
