Larry BruntI fell in love with shooting photographs in high school in 1987 and
have never strayed too far from my camera since. I believe good
photograph, like a
good poem, focuses in on a detail that suggests a deeper meaning or
emotion.
I studied the fine arts in college while shooting for the newspaper and
yearbook and then taught English and humanities at the collegiate level
in Washington State and Arizona. Later, I lived in Spain for several
years where I focused on architectural photography and
photojournalism-style street photography.
After those experiences, I decided to follow my passion by starting my
own wedding photography business in Spokane.
I bring my diversity of interests to my wedding photography. I look at
the setting in architectural terms; I think of the wedding day as a
story; I think of squeezing the shutter as writing a poem. I aim to
capture all the essential moments of the wedding that the bride and
groom can relive whenever they look at their photographs.
Photography isn't only my vocation; it is also my avocation, my
passion. I find taking pictures to be life-affirming. If you are
interesting in seeing the kinds of things I'm shooting on my own (which
includes a heavy dose of my son Marcus), then feel to drop by my
personal blog.
